AnimHal Cat

Valved holding chamber for cat
The AnimHal® Cat valved holding chamber has been specially designed for administering pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDI). This valved holding chamber is used to treat feline respiratory diseases such as asthma. Thanks to its technical characteristics, AnimHal® Cat optimizes pulmonary deposition of drugs inhaled by cats.

It allows for local treatment and makes drug action faster

The amount of drugs to administer is reduced

The risk of side effects is reduced

Optimised for cat's nose

AnimHal® Cat : the choice of a local treatment

AnimHal® Cat allows for inhaled drug administration. Contrary to orally administered drugs, AnimHal® Cat delivers the drug directly to the area to treat.

This makes the drug action faster, the amount of drugs to administer smaller, and thus, the risk of side effects reduced.

A mask developed and optimized for cats

The breathing pattern of cats is close to the ones of new-borns. This is why, the AnimHal® Cat valved holding chamber mask is inspired by the research on the infant mask.

Designed for small tidal volumes

The mask provided with AnimHal® Cat is directly inspired from research in neonatology. This mask has been developed and designed to optimize inhaled treatment for small respiratory volumes such as those of cats.

A shape that fits all cats

The shape of the mask was a subject of a collaboration with the SIAMU, emergency and intensive care unit of the Veterinary University Hospital of VetAgro Sup.

This collaboration confirms the AnimHal® Cat’s mask fits most cats, unlike the round mask usually provided. This is a real innovation that favours compliance of inhaled treatments of cats.

An environmentally friendly inhalation device

AnimHal® Cat is made of non-toxic and perfectly safe polymers, guaranteed without phthalates, Bisphenol A, latex, and heavy metals.

A valved holding chamber for cats entirely dismountable and washable

AnimHal® Cat has been designed to be entirely dismountable and, thus, entirely washable.

AnimHal® Cat : An economical valved holding chamber for cats

AnimHal® Cat has been designed to limit leaks, and thus to limit medication loss, making it an economical valved holding chamber.

AnimHal® Cat is compatible with most pressurized metered dose inhalers

Thanks to its flexible rear connector, AnimHal® Cat is compatible with most pressurized metered dose inhalers.

Drug deposition with AnimHal® Cat without valve compared to that with a reference inhalation chamber *

This graph proves AnimHal® Cat is as effective as a reference inhalation chamber.

Extra info

Our research in neonatology has shown that an inhalation chamber is more efficient for tidal volumes smaller than 80ml when the inspiratory valve is removed.

This is why, AnimHal Healthcare recommends the use of the inspiratory valve only for larger cats (over 9kg).

Comparing drug deposition with AnimHal® Cat with and without inspiratory valve*

This graph shows that removing the inspiratory valve does not affect the amount of drug deposited on the cat’s muzzle. However, it does significantly increase the proportion of drug available for the lungs. It is therefore recommended to use AnimHal® Cat without the inspiratory valve.
